Bar Stools Antique

Bar stools are a requirement of any bar and in their design they offer a unique opportunity of creativity, uniqueness and originality, when it comes to seats, coverings and overall makeup. In recent years, bar stools have risen in popular as kitchen bars have become part of some home designs, where families eat in a more casual environment, such as in a breakfast nook, etc. Unique designs we have seen include a milking can bar stool, a combination beer cooler-bar stool and cubic, brushed metal, art-deco style bar stools, to name a few.

In our store you'll find many branded bar stools including Miller bar stools, Budweiser bar stools and stools representing Coors Light, Guinness, as well as non-beer brands in soft drinks Like Pepsi or Coca-Cola, car companies like Ford and Chevy or MLB and NFL sports franchises. You can also find matching sets of stools and tables.

Bar stool sizes and heights

Bar stools are typically 26" or 30" in height but some contemporary stools are as high as 36" and these can be very striking in a contemporary kitchen design. With wooden stools you can customize the height if you like, simply by buying a high stool (36" or higher) then cutting the legs to the right size.

Variety of materials and construction

When searching for bar stools it's best to mind sturdy construction. Bar stools can be made of wood or high grade metals and constructed with backs or without and with armrests or without. Padded backs and seat surfaces are nice but these wear out faster than solid wood or metal seats, and they are likely to tear. If you are using the bar stool outdoors, you will want one-piece construction such as a thermoplastic, metal or solid wooden bar stool.

Straight stools with no back are likely to be non-swivel models (though not necessarily, of course) while bar stools with backs are most often equipped with a swivel mechanism.

Stools can come with or without armrests. Bar stools with armrests are sometimes called "spectator chairs."

Some bars – commercial or home bars, that is – may require floor mounted bar stools. These can be purchased as such or you may mount them to the floor using metal angles purchased at your local hardware or building store.
